(broadcast)   Latest News Announcements Some things Hello everyone, a few things. First of all, I was notified of the fact that journals kept sprouting Italian stuff at peoplee. Hope it's been fixed now, still trying to work out some oddities but hope to get those soon. If your journal happens to be partially Italian, please re-select it from the template gallery, and overwrite your current template. Should fix everything. On a completely different note, December 5th is our anniversary. Our 5th, even, so big yay for us! Anyway, our annual present is the expiration of our domain name, which always causes some trouble. This year I actually managed to remember this would come up again (Hence this note) and will try to prevent downtime for a change, but since Deek is still controlling our domain name, it might take some time since he's pretty difficult to reach. This means, unfortunately, that I cannot guarantee the domain renewal will run smooth, and if you add that to the fact that I will (hopefully) be moving around that time, things might get a bit bouncy. I should be able to set stuff up so that everything will still be accessible, but expect some inconvenience. A follow-up announcement will be posted in a few days. So stop wasting my time by reporting stuff to me, sending me requests to change your in-game guild name (Yes, that's you, "Shadow Healer's of the North".), or anything else you should actually be sending to game admins. It is with some reluctance that I make this announcement. Some time ago, our host contacted us about an unpaid bill for the provided services. After contacting Deek about this, he recently informed me that, due to personal issues, he will not be able to continue as patron of DGPlayers.net. After much deliberation among ourselves, we, admins, decided it is necessary to ask for the support of the community. None of us is currently able to pay for both the unpaid and future bills by themselves, and we hope that with your help, we can. It is only because of Deek's generosity that we have been able to run for so many years without asking for donations from the community, but we have now reached a point where we have no other choice. Our idea is as follows: We will open a PayPal account with the sole purpose of receiving donations and paying for hosting. In the navigation bar on the left, a PayPal donation button will appear. Using the same secure method as DG uses for premium subscriptions, people will be able to donate as much as they see fit, as opposed to a fixed subscription amount. For extra transparency, a public, anonymous list of donations will be kept up-to-date by the admins to allow you to see how much comes in and goes out - again, it is not our intention to make a profit, only to pay for our hosting. Also, we'd like to emphasize that donating will NOT give you any special rights or privileges here. People should only donate because they wish to support this website, there will be no extra benefits whatsoever. Please understand that this is not a step we're making lightly. We would much rather have preferred to continue running as we have in the past, without relying on help from others. Unfortunately, our choice was between this or shutting down the whole network.
